the set objectives, hence it is required that the risk assessments should be
“suitable and sufficient”.

Basically there are three
steps involved in HIRA and it helps majorly in keeping the workplace safe.
Risk Assessment in HIRA
Risk Assessment is a
formalized process of identifying preventive and protective measures by
evaluating the risk(s) arising from a Hazard(s), taking by evaluating the
risk(s) arising from hazard(s), taking into accounts the adequacy of any
existing controls, and deciding whether or not the risk(s) is acceptable.
Objectives of a Risk Assessment
·
To determine the
measure required by the organization to comply with relevant health and safety
legislation
·
To ensure that
risks are minimized by the correct application of risk control measures
·
To ensure legal
compliance
·
To prevent
incidents from happening and the consequent injury and ill health
·
To prevent legal
enforcement action against the company and its managers.
·
To prevent the
direct and indirect costs arising from an accident.
